What is the Science of Math?
The science of math refers to a movement focused on using objective evidence from descriptive, qualitative, quantitative, and correlational research about how students learn math in order to make educational decisions and to inform policy and practice.
CRA
Concrete- Representational- Abstract
Concrete Representational Abstract (CRA) is a three-step sequential instructional approach that has been found to be highly effective in teaching math concepts. Students move from working with concrete materials (virtual or physical manipulatives) to creating representational drawings to using abstract symbols like numbers.
